I'm not sure devs would publish documentation on gameplay choices and settings for games like these, as these games are kind of an exploration and to keep the mysteries fresh for new players. Updating gets to be a nightmare when you need to maintain and keep abreast of a monthly patch cycle. I don't publish if things are still getting tweaked. Once I have a handle on things and feel data is sufficient enough to share, then I craft the Steam Guide or blog or wiki, depending on how much control I want to administer in the comments.Īnd a lot depends on the game's update cycle. Reading forums and see what others are frustrated with would give me an idea of what guides to write or blog about. If everybody expects someone else to input data into a wiki, then the wiki never gets edited and maintained and becomes outdated. Yes, I've learned a tool just to be able to read game code for some games.Īnd wikis are only as good as the community engagement. If I want to learn something deeper I open up the code.
